Born on Curacao and raised in the Netherlands and in the Caribbean, I have lived since March 2005 with my husband on our mini farm in the United States.

As a teenager, I was very fortunate to be a student of the Caribbean painter Luis (Luigi) Benjamin Pinedo, who introduced me to oil and pastel. Although I participated in art shows, accepted commissions, and sold my art in the Caribbean, United States and Europe over the past 20 years, I was still considering painting as a hobby while working my full time office job. In 2009 I turned my passion and hobby into a career and named my business “Ariannah Fine Art and Illustration”.

With my art, I want to appeal to the senses by describing the experience in a subjective way, creating a sense of wonder. If you can feel the encouragement of the mother horse in my painting, “Through a Mother's Eyes” and if “Wink Wink” makes you smile, I know that I have accomplished my goal.

November 2011 I started working on my first children's book, written and illustrated by me. This book will be published in the summer or fall of 2012.

My desire to understand the nature of all living beings carried me into studying social psychology (graduated 2009) and animal care (graduated 989). Over the past 30 years I have volunteered for animals shelters, worked at a grooming salon and rescued/trained many pets. At least once a month, I share these experiences and observations on my blog.

My original acrylic, watercolor and pastel paintings are available here as prints or you can email me about availability of original work. The images are printed on premium acid-free papers and canvases that will last for generations.

My greeting cards are 5' x 7' in size and may be purchased as single cards or packs of 10 and come with white envelopes for mailing. You can also add text to the inside of the card when you order on line. Ordered cards can be mailed directly to the recipient. All cards are protected with a UV coating. The images of the cards on the website do not reflect the true quality of the cards themselves.
